Audrey,

Currently in my bf classes I use the joke (I try to lighten up things a lot as
the section on benefits of bf can get heavy when I mention all the risks of
formula feeding) of the young mom who told me she couldn't bf because her nipple
doesn't look like a Pl....x nipple. People laugh, then I explain that this baby
won't be bf any other than his or her own mom's breast and won't have reason to
compare to other nipples and think "gee, mom, you don't have a good nipple."

I do describe the "pinch test" for inverted nipples, and show them the tools we
use (shells, pumps, shields, syringes) so they know we have alternatives to help
in case they do have this problem. Too often women find they have inverted
nipples and give up. As there seems to be an inordinate amount of inverted
nipples in Puerto Rico, it is a subject I bring up regularly.

I also would like to know of picture slides you are pleased with. I'm trying to
get some of my own, but my knowledge and financial limits cause the pictures I
take to look very "amateur".
