I contracted CMV in my first trimester of pregnancy in 1995. My daughter
was born with congenital CMV. Thankfully, she has had only very minor
problems.

That is correct. Unless the preemie is already actively infected. Then
whether the breastmilk transmits it wouldn't pose a problem.

 There is no reason she should not breastfeed her baby, even if it turns
out he/she was not infected in uetro (which the baby probably has been
anyway).
