Margaret asked about how much dairy needs to be eliminated. In my
experiences, this varies from baby to baby, to the point that some moms
cannot ingest ANY product that has ANY cow's milk in it. You have to teach
moms to label read, and avoid lactose, whey, casein as well as milk. An easy
way for them to find "safe" products is to look for the Parve symbol (U with
circle around it) that indicates to people observing Kosher dietary laws that
the product is certified by the rabbis to be free of dairy or meat products.
This has helped many of my clients.
