I've been wondering about this for quite some time. Neither of my two
boys spit up at all and never needed burping to the amazement of many
relatives. My husband used to torture his grandmother by "rough housing"
with our older son right after he nursed. She would just sit their biting
her nails and say "he's going to puke all over you." And, never did... The
other thing that is so amazing about breastmilk and spit up is that most
moms don't know that straight breastmilk doesn't stain nearly as much as
formula. I can always tell the handmedown clothing from formula fed kids.
