Dear Friends:
 
I used to run water from the faucet through the flange (and valve) for a few 
minutes after each time I used it, then let it air dry. Washed the whole 
set-up once a day by swishing it in warm soapy water, then rinsed. Never had a 
problem. 
 
I was pumping for a healthy term baby.
