Hello to all-
I posted this question last weekend and got no responses, so I am trying
again. Dr Hale, are you out there? My patient is a 20 year old primip who
had a liver transplant at the age of 18 after liver failure due to
autoimmune hepatitis. She takes Prograf (aka tacrolimus) to prevent
rejection of her transplanted liver. In Hale 2000, this is listed as an L4
(hazardous), although the baby's potential exposure via breastmilk is ~
1/1000 of the mom's dose. After speaking at length with the on-call
pediatrician, and looking at Hale herself, the mom has decided to go ahead
with bfdg. I promised her I would search for more info, and send it to her
by mail, as she has gone home. Can anyone tell me what she should watch her
baby for, and does anyone else have experience with this med being used by a
nursing mother?
Thanks to all from
