hello all,

I have permission to post this and ask questions for this mom to be.

I am working with a 15 year old, diagnosed bipolar, girl who is 35 weeks.  She is interested in breastfeeding but is told that she can not BF and re-start her bipolar meds.  She is wondering if there is any alternative "controls" that she can research and ask her MD about?  Are there any meds for this illness that are compatible with BFing?  Any alternate therapies that are of interest?

Thank you in advance for any input to such a serious and intimidating situation!!!
