Have you found the book Making More Milk by West and Marasco (I believe this
is the title and authors?  Marasco is specialist re PCOS insulin resistance
etc I do beleive.
Personally I would not try to explain the complex physiology behind it, but
rather "there is a growing body of research which suggests increased
production or better lactation success with metformin use. Many moms seemed
to be helped with infertility issues by using metformin, I would say it
helps normalize the hormonal milieu, and continued use during the lactation
period has been shown to be of benefit. Remember research can be case
studies and does not have to be RCTs.
