I have a more than l0 year old bulletin from the FDA and a research
article(somewhere) that describes how karo can support the growth of
botulism just like honey, and neither is recommended until the child is
over 2 yo.  Botulism spores grow under anaerobic conditions which the dense
quality of these substances provide.  Contact the CDC or the FDA for more
