For your interest, here, directly quoted, is something from a journalist's
article in a Toronto newspaper, today. The article has nothing to do with
breastfeeding, but is obviously related, as those of us who seethe at anti
breastfeeding stories in the media well know.

"...the powerful and image makers become more manipulative, all the while
appearing to be the journalist's best friend. They offer to provide
cash-strapped newsrooms with all the video clips and pictures, all the
research, all the experts, everything you might need to tell a story. Heck,
they'll even write it for you!

"But woe betide any journalist who wants to tell a story or ask some
questions that don't help promote the product, company, or politician.
Calls are not returned, access is denied, and the journalist is left trying
to tell a story with no pictures, and no interviews with the people in
charge." Wendy Mesley, page 8, Broadcast Week, the Globe and Mail, Saturday,
August 19.
