Hello Friends,
This old L&D nurse, who has been working in lactation (as a CLC and hopefully an IBCLC next year), just left work crying! Our beautiful breastfeeding policy was "revised" and all of the language has been removed about marketing, free formula bags, formula reps talking to nurses, etc. I was shocked that despite our best efforts, we have just taken a giant step backwards (seems money always wins!). I had some very well meaning nurses trying to comfort me with, "Why do you care?", "It's a personal choice", "Does it really matter if mothers feeds HER baby formula?", and "Just work your 8 hours and then forget about it!" (SIGH)

My question to all of you...is there one single short article to describe our passion for breastfeeding? I am looking for something to post in the breakroom.

Thank You!
Marie Ivey, BSN, RN, LCCE, and a very deflated CLC this morning!
