Hello, wise women...
I haven't been my usual post-full self, because I was gearing up for
some listening. And listen I did, in a room full of other women
listening and learning to listen between the lines. There were some
particularly special moments when health care professionals shared their
frustrations and determination and empathy while practising
communication and counselling skills. The result was one that I
recognized both from Series meetings and women's healing circles, a
deeply moving experience of becoming connected and whole through the
sharing of our stories.
This morning, there are many happy babies and mothers in Atlantic Canada
because of what Linda Smith shared with so many of the health care
professionals who work with them in outreach programs, family resource
programs, community health centres, hospitals and in homes throughout
the four Atlantic provinces.
The response in my InBox this morning has reinforced my knowledge that
we are capable of great things in the Maritimes. We can hold wonderful
conferences and walk away knowing how to put it all to good work...
Thanks to those who came to Moncton last year and to Linda, we are
really moving ahead quickly now.
Friday's seminar will be an event that will stand out for a long time in
my mind. Of course, so will meeting Linda Smith in person.
(Added bonus: now my girls can say that Kathy D. has brushed their hair
and the Coach has done their nails... LOL)
