Yom Kippur and Tisha B'Av are also the only 25hours fasts. The others are
sunup to sundown.
My understanding, as others have mentioned, is that Jewish law expects
new
and expecntant mothers to fast, but is lenient in allowing them to break
the fast if they or the baby are not feeling well.
