I am sorry if this is a stupid question, but why do hospitals need to give
out diaper bags of any sort?

I don't even know what they are, though clearly they are a bag to keep
nappies (diapers) in : )

But are they essential to parenting? Can't mothers use any sort of bag to
keep a nappy in?

Would mothers feel deprived if they didn't get one? Are they good-quality
expensive items, or just tokens?

Curious!
