I work in a hospital that does 4500 deliveries per year. Currently we do not
have a LC.  I am putting together a proposal to hire a LC team for the
hospital.  Does anyone have any recommendations as to the number of LCs
necessary for a level III hospital that does 4500 deliveries.  I would like
to staff 24 hours a day - is this realistic.  I think I read in Riordan and
Auerbach that the recommendation is for 1 full-time LC for every 1000
deliveries.  Does any have any other references I am use to sway the hospital
administration?
