I got a call this morning and I'm stumped where to look for answers. I looked
in my books here I have as the AAPL in Missouri, but this is a new one to me.

The mom has a 3-4 month old baby. She is in the hospital because she has
vommited blood. She is undergoing tests and the doctors have found her white
blood count is very low. She has received two transfusions so far, but the
doctors want her to wean because they say continuing nursing with the low
white blood count will "weaken" her.

The three books I have at home to look in are the Breastfeeding Answer Book,
Breastfeeding: A guide for the medical profession by Ruth Lawrence and
Breastfeeding and Human Lactation by Riordana nd Auerbach. I have been
looking in those but I'm not finding anything.

If anyone can answer my question or tell me where to look in those books, I'd
appreciate it.

Thank you.
