Maybe if babies and children grew up in the UK and US feeking welcomed and
valued by society we wouldn't have so many poorly socialised adults and
juveniles clogging up our courts and prisons.
We both have very high prison populations and very unwelcoming attitudes to
pregnant and nursing mothers.
If you meet hostility even in the womb isn't this going to make you more
hostile in general?
I'm a full time mother who has worked as a lawyer after graduating in social
sciences.
When I was working I was amazed at the level of violence against women both
in the family and outside it. When I found out what I was expected to do
with my baby by society after a century and a half of brain washing by the
formula industry I was amazed at how little violence and divorce there is.
Surely being left hungry and alone all night by your own mother as a
helpless and vulnerable infant must colour your attitude to women. Not good
for future relationships if you're a man and not good for self respect(of
your own sex) if you're a woman.
It sure sells a lot of formula though!
