having been an LLL Leader for 20 years and an LC for 10 (I'm re-sitting for
the exam this year too!) I certainly am abiding by WHO guidelines. The
advantages of formula that parents state are, "Anybody can feed the baby.
The baby won't die if the mom decides not to breastfeed." (The "anybody can
feed the baby" is sometimes stated as an advantage for mom....always a
conversation starter....and sometimes as an advantage for baby....also a
conversation starter.)

I would certainly not offer any falst advantages. Also I do usually mention
that some mothers feel uncomfortable about breastfeeding and they don't have
to deal with their issues right away if they decide to bottle feed instead.

By the way, advantages of breastfeeding for dad that parents state usually
include cost, healthier babies are happier babies so it's more fun to be
around the baby, it's a pride thing to know the baby is getting the Cadillac
of infant feeding (or is it the Saab?), diapers smell better. I might be
able to come up with a few more but not tonight!
