Marcia Walker was definitely a missing voice on this morning's segment on National Public Radio. The pediatrician said formula is safe and healthy, never mentioning the increased risks of many diseases from those 20,000 + studies. He suggested that predigested formulas would reduce the overweight problem because babies gain weight more slowly on the predigested formula than the regular formulas. Personally, in thinking about this finding, I think it is because the predigested formulas are thicker and you can't pour them down a baby's throat as rapidly. And I think you can make a breastmilk fed baby overweight by pouring it down babies throats too. That was ALL they had to say about formula choice. No mention whatsoever of the problems with powdered formula or soy ....

At the same time, they had someone talk about how it isn't safe to share milk.

I don't have time now, but if someone else doesn't post it. I'll put up the link tonight.

Best, Susan
