Dear Lactnetters
If there is an LC out there who is working in a small hospital (500-800
births a year), could you please e-mail me privately? We are
experiencing some differing opinions amongst the staff and management
with regard to the Lactation Consultant role in the hospital where I
work. Comments like - you can do your breastfeeding thing when you're
here (as an RN) and when you're not, someone else can answer your
calls. It's getting a little frustrating and I would like to know how
LC's work in other small hospitals.
Thank you.
Stephanie Ryan RN IBCLC
