I saw a patient in the office Monday who was nursing a 28 month old.
She told me that some of her "friends" said that she should stop
breastfeeding because this could be considered child abuse...Really sad
how things that get into the media can be misinterpretted and influence
people...I did my best to reassure her that this was not true, but not
exactly what we want people to have as "support" from friends and
family for breastfeeding.
