Has she eliminated ALL dairy products?  Does she injest any foods with
artificial sweeteners in them?(common cause of intestinal cramping in
infants)  Does she take a vitamin with iron?  Does baby?

I was working with a mom whose baby sounded similar.  She assured me that
she had eliminated all dairy products.  I had her keep a diet diary and she
had butter several times each day.  When I asked about it she said her other
children who were also dairy sensitive weren't bothered by butter so she
hadn't eliminated it.  She did and baby stopped cramping.

It sounds a lot like a reaction to something in mom's diet.  A diet history
for several days would be helpful, making sure to include *everything* she
injests--liquids, supplements, etc.
