In addition to all the other helpful things that have been suggested, are
there any changes in the milk removal pattern being done to tamp down the
mom's supply? The B vitamins are water soluble, the body does not store
any significant amount, of them, and the more milk she is making, the
more B vitamins are leaving her body. The whole B vitamin complex, and
some of them, specifically thiamin, are vital to the chemical workings of
the neuro system. Some people have inborn errors of metabolism that
require consistent adequate supplies in order to continue to function in
a healthy manner. Several of the deficiency diseases (pellagra,
beri-beri, and others) caused by shortages of one or more of the B
vitamins have neurological symptoms as components of their diagnosis, and
borderline situations might be worth considering. (These diseases have
not gone the way of smallpox, etc., as some might believe erroneously
just because they are less seldom seen/recognized, by virtue of the fact
we live in a land of plenty of 'enriched' food, e.g. multiple vitamins
and minerals removed to increase shelf life, and only two or three
replaced.)

In any case, using Brewer's yeast powder as a food supplement couldn't
harm a thing, provided it's started in small increments to allow the
intestinal flora to adjust without excessive gas. I found it best to
start with 1/4 teaspoon several times a day, increasing the amount slowly
each day, up to 2 Tablespoons 4 times a day. High protein too.
