Phyllis, the Gates Foundation and the Ted Turner United Nations Foundation are combining efforts to eradicate polio worldwide.  Funding is going towards vaccinations(expanding access to vaccines in war-torn poor nations).  It also will going to vaccines against malaria and HIV/AIDS, etc.(I would assume R&D).  I didn't see anything on breastfeeding.  But you might want to check out the Gates Foundation web site  http://www.gatesfoundation.org/pressroom/release.asp?PRindex=82
I would be greatly surprised if any monies were going into breastfeeding support or research.  Valerie W. McClain, IBCLC
