To all;
Has anyone heard of this and how contagious is this? 7 month old baby has it
on her finger which has been lanced a few times because of purulent
swelling. Below the infected area are three small herpatic lesions. Baby
also has yeast in her mouth. Mom is being treated for mastitis although we
did not see her prior to treatment. Mom does have yeast on her nipples and
areola, but she also has a few similar lesions aboveleft nipple. She has had
nipple and breast discomfort times 3 weeks and these lesions for about the
same length of time.

We are treating the yeast with all purpse nipplecream (Jacks) during the day
and Gentian violet at night. The lesions are going to be covered with opsite
or tegaderm during feeds and possibly use a shield until we hear from
someone. Mind you until the terrrible yeast pain began she had been feeding
directly before she saw us.
help?
Attie
