Jennifer- I often suggest to new parents that when people "offer"  
suggestions, advise etc to turn it back into a question and ask them "You seem  to think 
that I am doing something wrong. What makes you think that? My  pediatrician 
says the baby is doing fine and my husband and myself have decided  that this 
is the way we want to raise our child.We don't have any problems with  this 
but you seem to think something is wrong." And remind moms not to complain  
constantly because people may pick up on the complaints as a need for  help.
