Andrea,

Please, monitor this baby for weeks..... the one mom that I worked with who
had huge nipples almost lost her baby..... he became "failure to thrive".
After the gangbuster-milk-coming and baby drinnking what more or less poured
out, her supply dwindled as he could no way suckle and draw out enough milk.
I was out of the picture, when several weeks later she called and said the
baby was in the hospital. It was touch and go for about 10 days and they
almost lost him. Her nipples were big and lumpy and tough.

Heard about another mom who had more and more problems with elastic nipples
as each baby was born. The last one just could not reach the lactiferous
sinuses to suckle out the milk..... she had to pump and feed one way or
another until his mouth grew big enough to reach beyond the stretchy nipple.

So keep an eye on this baby for about 6 or 8 weeks, please.
