A fellow Lactation Professional not on LACTNET asked me this question and I thought I would pass it on to LANCET with her permission.
A Leader asked me about the safety of taking aspirin while breastfeeding a
3 year old. I read what Dr. Hale has to say but this is one baby aspirin
each day.

Apparently the Leader has had a couple of miscarriages this year and they
are saying her blood is too thick. She is 38 and the docs are blaming
extended nursing on her miscarriages. They told her that her prolactin
level is high and her progesterone is low. They told her that it may be
partly due to her age. I know she didn't want to hear this but I told her
that she may be perimenapausal contributing to her low progesterone.

The recommendation is the daily baby aspirin and perhaps a progesterone
suppository. What do you think?

What I told her was that she should not
t worry about one baby aspirin or progesterone suppositories. I told her that others on LACTNET will probably have someone too and that I will forward them to her. Please reply to me privately for the forwarding, it makes it much easier to forward.

Thanks
