You can respond in the same way you posted here, by starting a new message.
If you want to include relevant parts of the post to which you are
responding, simply cut and paste.   Yes, replying to a digest will include
the entire digest.

How does a list member (who receives the digest rather than individual
emails) post or reply to a query?   Can you reply to a single post? Or does
a reply auto-paste in an entire digest? 

I'm not familiar with this format (having more familiarity with yahoo
groups) but would like to add to the discussion from time to time.
