I've been lurking on LactNet for awhile now and have learned so much from the fascinating posts here. I really had no mentor when I became an IBCLC but now I have 3000! I'm an RN and IBCLC at a hospital in Joliet, IL and live in Chicago.

I just had a comment on the article that Alexis Martin Nealy posted the link to in the NY Post. Hearing these stories never ceases to amaze me how supposedly civilized people, usually women, think that discretely breastfeeding in public is something shocking and/or disgusting. The funny part of the link is the ads next to it. Those women are showing much more breast than the breastfeeding mother. Nobody thinks it's disgusting when JLo or other celebrities flaunt their breasts--only when they're exposed for functional purposes. :)

That was my chuckle for the day,

Linda Anderegg, BSN, RNC, IBCLC, mother of one smart breastfed son, and breast cancer survivor
