The funny (but sad) thing about this, is that in the Netherlands the baby can be bathed
with the umbiliculus on (will even be bathed directly after birth, I was really upset about
that), but the mom is told not to bathe untill the lochia has stopped flowing. So for the
first 6 weeks: have a shower, not a bath.
