Hello All,

Well, after 25 years of not being comfortable with the shape of my
"football player's neck" (which I inherited from my dad), I finally had
cosmetic surgery last week. On Wednesday evening, 5 days after surgery,
I was still having the customary swelling and was particulary
uncomfortable. Suddenly I remembered ...CABBAGE LEAVES! I was tempted
to run to the "Food Kitty" right then (after midnight), but instead got
up early for my cabbage....green, of course. I brought it home, chilled
and beat the leaves and placed them on my tender neck. Whammo! Instant
relief and a softer, less swollen neck an hour later. I have been
applying them 2 - 3 times per day for an hour at a time. How I wished I
had remembered them earlier! I plan to report my treatment to my
cosmetic surgeon...wonder what he'll think? I bet it would help to use
them fairly continuously the day or so after surgery, as others on
Lactnet have recently reported.

Enjoying my new profile immensely. Not exactly an "Audrey Hepburn", but
no longer a "Dick Butkuss (or however you spell his name!).
