Thank you for the heads-up on that info. It's more than a little creepy.it's
truly disturbing. Think about the routine use of sonogranphy for virtually
every mother, starting in the first trimester, and sometimes in the very
first days for IVF mothers. We know that sonograms heat fetal tissue, and
what is more vulnerable than the developing fetal brain? There are
studies.starting with some good ones back in the late '90s in the Lancet
(the RADIUS Study with 5000 women!?) and others that show some affect on the
fetus, and how could there not be some subtle neurological changes from all
that heating that can't be measured. Then we see trends like the ones you
heard about on NPR and wonder why. When a pregnant woman has a high fever,
the docs worry about effects on the baby. Sonograms have been in use for a
long time.
