It sounds to me, Jennifer, as though this mother is on the way to healing 
and will be feeling more comfortable soon. I often find that after a bad 
plugged duct has gone, the pain continues for some time - I think because 
the ducts were stretched and inflamed while that plugged duct was there. 
With the "plug" now gone, it will gradually get back to normal. The 
remaining tenderness on her nipples is probably the thrush not quite 
resolved but let's hope it clears up by the end of the diflucan treatment.
