Cindi, I totally agree with everything you said.  Everything I have read from
the pump companies is based on speculation, not actual cases.  With these
warnings of not sharing due to possible cross contamination comes fear of harming
the baby.
When a mother tells me she was given a used pump I may tell her what the
company says but I emphasize issues like the warranty is gone and the pump may not
work as well as a new one.
