I had a similar one recently, but by the time I saw mum and baby, baby was
4 and a half months old. This baby had a high palate and mum's nipples were
like big raspberries on stalks! She had successfully breastfed 3 children
before without problems. She had been using a Supply Line (like a SNS) from
early days and feeding in bed at night without Supply Line. Baby was very
*knowing* by this age, and would not attach without the Supply Line tubing
being in place. She had hoped that with the Supply Line, that she could
wean baby off this as he grew, but he seemed to become more dependant on
it, and would not really try to suck properly most of the time. Perhaps a
SNS might help your mum and baby. At least it keeps baby at the breast and
trying.
