Catrherine: thanks for your clarification. i guess I had understood that the
original clinical problem with the chomping baby was a situation that caused
nipple compression due to oral hypertonicity. Did I misunderstand?

i agree about the "biting" action that you describe in this post with
tongue-tied babies as a result of tongue retraction (behind lower gumline0
during "sucking". And I agree we need to tighten up the nomenclature.
Whatever happened to that committee, i wonder?
