Dear Friends,
I always get these, don't I? I was referred today to see a 35 wk
pregnant patient who is hospitalized for exacerbation of asthma. She has
been on meds for about 4 days and last night, told her nurse that her
breasts are hard and swollen and leaking. When I saw her this am, and
discussed the merits of breastfeeding, she said she is not planning to
breastfeed. I'm looking at her meds thinking the reason for this is the
prednisone (60 mg/day) she is on. Other meds include: Guaifenesin with
DM, Diphenhydramine HCL, Erythromycin and Albuterol (inhaled). Anyone
have any other ideas about this?
Thanks,
Mary Kay Smith, CLE, IBCLC
