To moms who say both I always emphasize that just breast is important for
first month to develop supply and give baby extra goodies etc.  I tell them
if they give bottles  from the beginning they will soon be all bottles and
breast is better.  They then go on to do whatever they have in mind - to my
regret.  Usually weaned from breast by 2 mo or so. I hope if they just BF
one month and BF becomes well established they will get the message that
it's easier and best.   I used to see most Mexican moms having no problem
BF, with an occasional bottle while at work, but that is changing.  The
"free" formula from WIC comes at a very high societal cost!  Sincerely, Pat
