I've been getting Lactnet for about a month and really enjoying it.
I'm an LVN working PRN in a maternal/baby unit and although I can't work
as an LC in the hospital (because I'm not an RN & therefore incapable)
I get assigned the moms with the bfng problems and calls for help from
the rest of the staff.

Anyway, I have a diabetic patient who was suppose to go back on her
Micronase. She decided on the fourth day postpartum to breastfeed,
pumping 1-2 oz for her baby in NICU. The doctor and I can't find much info
about the advisability of taking it and nursing. The PDR says that it is not

known about transmission through breastmilk but with the possibility of`
increased insulin production in the infant it is contraindicated. Typical
CYA
response. Does anyone have any information of substance about the
transmission and is it of concern?

Thanks for the help.
