I say: remember that a pacifier is a breast substitute.  He is not using =
you as a pacifier, he uses the pacifier as a breast. ( I then go into my =
spiel about the breast as comfort and safety as well as nutrition...).>>>>>>
Stacy, I really like this. I try to tell moms that there may be a good time and place for a pacifier down the road - but not now. After milk supply is established - like when baby starts to fuss in the check out line at the store, or in the car when you are close to home...but not in the newborn period, when they need calories and comfort. And Jan, I totally agree with your philosophy that we *hope* our kids parent the way we wish we had. I see my girls with their friends' little ones and am so pleased with what they picked up from their parenting.
