I have a mom who is going be delivered at 34 weeks due to her Marfan's Syndrome. She is going to have cardiac surgery 2 weeks later. She is told not to breastfeed, as she needs to "take it easy and rest", as well as the issue to weaning is "so painful" prior to surgery. She breastfed her first and loved it. I am working with her on using fresh donor milk but would like to know if there is any current information I can get on whether she can, should, etc breastfeed.
Thanks,
R. deVigne
