Arghh! You mentioned the archives about a similar case--I thought it was almost the exact same type of thing. Is there a newsletter or internet group out there for daycare directors which has taken this stance?  Do these daycare folks forbid pacifiers, blankets, stuffed animals, bottles or any other type of comfort item? (If so, I don't know if I would want my child there). I can think of many other situations where one child may have something another doesn't, and it it upsets a child. Of course, let's not forget about the health benefits.
