Ahh - good info.
Perhaps those complaining about the new controls on formula should be informed of this standard practice.

To be fair, most hospitals with food service facilities have their
foodservice supplies under lock and key.  It prevents pilfering and
allows for a better grasp on stock par levels.  I guess I don't see why
having formula locked is a big deal when most everything else in these
facilities are also locked.  A person needs to request food or snacks
from nurses; so if the mom chooses not to breastfeed why would she not
have to ask for formula?  I think it also will make the floor staff more
accountable for protecting breastfeeding when the mother chooses to
breastfeed.  Just my 2 cents J
