I am very happy that the infant in question is now doing well. While I am
open to the possibility of a toxic dose of lecithin having an effect on a
mother's milk, we cannot extrapolate that the discontinuation of the
lecithin has necessarily had any effect on the growth of the baby via the
milk, nor the milk production of the mother. This is because, at the same
time, other interventions are in place for example breast massage, and the
baby is being supplemented and becoming stronger and more alert, leading
to better breastfeeding. These things would be confounders and so we won't
really know. Very interesting case.
