This is breastfeeding-related....whether anyone gets upset with me posting on
this issue because it may impact your webstore for breastfeeding-related
products, I'd like to warn others as to what has happened to me. I ordered an
American Girl Doll for my daughter Saturday on the internet and my identity was
stolen. I was under the false impression that when a lockbox is in the corner
of the screen, the site is safe. Well, the site itself is safe, but not the
"stuff" between my computer and that lockbox. My Visa card has been tampered
with since then and someone has racked up thousands of dollars on it. Bank One
who dispenses my credit card to me are stating that they will remove all
charges, but my privacy has been violated. Who knows how far this theft/fraud
will extend in terms of my credit history.

I think lactation consultants need to be aware of this current internet
activity when advising moms to purchase their pumps off of the internet. I just
had a mom last week tell me she'd purchase her pump off of the internet because
she got such a good price/deal. Well, I wonder whether her credit card is
being used without her awareness.......I only ask that LCs be current with this
potential corrupt activity when telling mothers to purchase pumps at a cheap
price off of the internet.
