One of our CLCs has a beautiful breastfed grandson. He is 4 mo old. He had a small little lump that appeared on his head, his lips looked a little pale and maybe his tummy was distended. This grandmother told her daughter to make sure the Dr drew labs this past Thursday on his routine check up date. (the lump, etc was discovered over the weekend) He had a hemoglobin of 4.5. Parents took him to the ER since the Dr was hoping his equipment was having a problem. NO...it wasn't. He was diagnosed with leukemia and sent straight to Pediatric ICU for transfusion. Yesterday the diagnosis was acute leukemia (not sure if lymphoblastic or myeloid, but assume lymphoblastic) and his hemoglobin was 3.2. We are all praying, sending positive thoughts to the universe, etc. The Doctor said to the family, "Thank Goodness he is nursing, he is getting stem cells through the milk".

PS I didn't see the View....but I generally enjoy and like Joy. Good for her for sticking up for nursing. Elisabeth...well, that is another story. Doesn't surprise me she would say unkind things about nursing, She couldn't wait to get her kids on formula at night so she could sleep.
