To Jan B.:

I also mentioned in one of my posts re Lact-Aid vs SNS. Because Lact-Aid
is a vacuum and its flow is regulated by baby's suckling it appears to
encourage more efficient suckling. I've had mothers try both and in 100%
of cases they felt the baby suckled better with the Lact-Aid. The SNS
needs air displacement of volume of fluid removed and this happens
inconsistently so baby is not always suckling against same amount of
pressure. Also, SNS is a gravity flow so baby has little control whereas
baby determines flow with Lact-Aid.
