I have been begging people for years with students looking for a
(relatively) easy research projec tto do the following study:

mimic how mothers in hopsital are given formula: ie, 4-oz bottles that are
opened at the begining of the day and then fed in small increments
throughout the day, left to sit on counter between feeds. Baby takes out
about an oz each feeding until it is all gone and then mother opens another
bottle (even if she is given others!) They tend to save the milk so as not
to waste it.

I am NOT suggesting giving babies this milk. Insetead, take a sample of it
out every 2-3 hours and put it in a petrie dish and then count bacteria
counts in it. See how they grow! REPORT IT IN A JOURNAL THAT WILL GET THE
WORD OUT TO THE PEOPLE WHO WILL USE THAT INFORMATION> (sorry to scream,
but I'm on my very high editorial soapbox and it is very oxygen-deficient
up here and you are all a long way away on antoher cloud(made of
breastmilk, of course! :-) )

Do I have any takers?
