Just received latest digest, and Margery Wilson's story reminded me of one
from my past: My daughter was in afternoon kindergarten, so she went with me
to my morning LLL meeting to play with my co-Leader's daughter, before school
on meeting days. One day while they were playing in the hostess's toy room,
a group mother tip toed to the door to check on her own toddler, and came
back to the group gleefully giggling. As she got to the door, my daughter,
Brooke, and the other little girl, Celeste, were playing house and Brooke
sat down, picked up her doll and a bottle, and said she was going to feed her
baby. Celeste copied Brooke's actions, and said she needed to feed her baby
too. Brooke eyed Celeste up and down then tossed her bottle across the room,
pulled her baby to her breast, and said "I'm a LLL mom, I only breastfeed my
baby!"

Thrush: When I can gear up for it, I have a couple of whopper cases of
ductal yeast to share. But, the other day, I (who haven't breastfed for 14.8
years now), had some shooting, burning pains in my right breast, underneath,
and deep, now I occasionally have shooting pains if I OD on caffeine, but
this was different. About two hours into this, my right nipple started
itching and burning, and when I looked, it was red, dry, and almost appeared
to have blisters forming ( I think the blisters were from my rubbing the
itch). I called my husband, thinking, because I had recently had herpes
(chanker sores) in my mouth, which I never used to be prone to, despite the
word "Yeast" blinking in my mind, that maybe I had shingles! When my
husband got home, he confirmed the yeast, and I started a topical antifungal
and diflucan. 3 days later, and it's still hanging around, although it's
much milder. Internal pain and external itching have disappeared,
thankfully. Omigosh! You don't think this dreaded stuff can travel the
computer links do you? (Hee, hee) Seriously, I don't know where I picked
this up. Southern California has been anything but wet and humid, lately!
(I hate to tell those of you under heavy snows, floods, etc that we've had
temps in the high 80's, with 15 - 20% humidity. This would be perfect summer
weather, but it is odd to see people putting up their Xmas lights
